The iMac is one of Apple’s leading desktop products.  It is an “all-in-one” computer.  This means the iMac has all the core components built into a single device.  The space saving design is great for portability, style and access to cabling.  And when it comes to computer repair, the all-in-one design is fairly easy to get at the individual components, even if it’s not so easy to work on them.

Being all-in-one means the hard drive, processor, motherboard, memory, power supply, nearly everything a normal computer has is built onto a single frame.  It offers desktop computing power with laptop compactness.  When disassembling the iMac, the case splits open to reveal the interior. Unfortunately, the design makes repairing individual components slightly more difficult.  To get in there, usually a lot of cabling, sensors, and a wide array of screws need to be kept mindful of.

We have fixed the following iMac problems as well as other more rare cases:

  • Failing hard drive
  • Mac data recovery
  • Bad power supply
  • Broken or dim LCD screen
  • Broken USB ports
  • Bad motherboard / logic board
  • Bad CD / DVD / BluRay driveHardware and software upgrades

The iMac has come a long way.  If you have an older iMac G3 or G6, or if you have a newer 27″ iMac which is having some problems, we can help you out.  The most common issue we see with these iMacs are overheating issues and bad hard drives.  The iMac is a good machine and needs only a little maintenance to keep it running in good condition for years.  If you run into any problems, please give us a call and we will be happy to help you out.
